After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, Jerry was selected for the elite “cATCh” program from Parker/Computer and started his career as an application engineer at their headquarters in Rohnert Park, California. After gaining extensive knowledge within the field of motion control, Jerry was placed with Regan Controls, a Parker distributor located in Charlotte, North Carolina. While at Regan he fulfilled several roles over a ten-year period, including outside sales for South Carolina, and later as application engineering manager, where his group provided technical support for both Carolinas, Tennessee, and Alabama. During this period Jerry broadened his automation expertise to include PLCs, HMIs, SCADA software, and machine vision, in addition to his motion control background. In 2001 Regan was purchased by Cross Automation and Jerry moved into his new role of senior application engineer, providing such services as project management, motion controller and PLC programming, machine commissioning, and general technical support. His direct and in-depth experience with all of the product lines represented by R.L. Matus & Associates will prove invaluable in his role of sales representative covering the state of Florida and the southern portions of both Georgia and Alabama.
