After graduating from CDI with a Digital Electronics Degree, Tim started his career by accepting an outside sales position with Shaum Manufacturing in Chicago, Illinois, covering five midwestern states and selling DC servos, sensors, IBM robots, single/multi-axis motion controls, and turn-key automation systems. He then became the Western Regional Sales Manager for International Cybernetics Corporation, a division of Gould Electronics, managing manufacturers representatives, distributors and five direct area sales offices during the conversion of analog-to-digital-based single/multi-axis motion and total machine control. Tim's next stop was with Rockwell Automation—Allen Bradley as an outside salesman, successfully channeling the new SLC 500 PLC into high volume OEM packaging accounts. He then spent seven years employed at SelTrol (a high-tech, automation-oriented distributor located in Greenville, South Carolina) in outside sales, applying Banner/Turck, Red Lion, TCP HMIs, Welco custom frameless motors and Saftronics/Yaskawa drives. During this time Tim (while partnering with Doug Hall) created numerous VFD resident winding software solutions supporting Owens Corning Fiberglass in thirteen countries around the world. Tim was then hired as the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Saftronics, managing the conversion from Yaskawa to the Fuji Electric VFD platform, leading manufacturers reps and over 100 distributor organizations. Tim became self-employed when starting Drives Systems in 2004, covering nine southern states for Mitsubishi Electric Automation VFDs for HVAC and Water/Waste Water markets. In July of 2009, Tim joined R.L. Matus & Associates as our Vertical Market Specialist, focusing on the commercial HVAC, W/WWTP, and pumping industries.
