After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (and a minor in International Affairs and Japanese), Bill entered the industrial automation distribution field as a Motion Control Sales Engineer for Regan Controls in Raleigh, North Carolina. Over a nine-year period Bill moved from Field Sales to Area Management and finally to Director of Sales. In this role Bill was responsible for eighteen sales and application engineers, producing $15M in annual revenue. In addition to his expertise in the field of motion control, he gained a tremendous amount of experience in industrial networking, HMIs/iPCs/SCADA software, vision systems, sensors, and safety products. In 2003 Bill stepped out of the industrial automation world and into the HVAC/Commercial industry as a Controls Sales Specialist for Carrier Corporation. However, with his desire to return to the field of motion control, the opportunity to join R.L. Matus was very much in line with his long-term professional goals. Bill serves as our Motion Control Specialist for North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida, and also as the Sales Representative for Western North Carolina.
